Hey, I’m Donna — the hands and heart behind Donnafied. I’m First Nations from T’ít’q’et of the St’át’imc Nation, and creativity has been a steady thread throughout my life. I live and work in Vancouver, which is on the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. I work across many mediums — cakes, art, digital design, custom apparel, stickers, and crochet (and more) — and I’ve learned to bring ideas to life in ways that feel meaningful, personal, and rooted in where I come from.

I was raised by a strong mother, and I later raised my two children the same way. Those experiences taught me resilience, resourcefulness, and how to make something beautiful out of very little. Working with a tight budget forced me to become incredibly creative and knowledgeable — not just as an artist, but as a problem-solver. If something needed to be fixed, built, baked, sewn, or invented, I figured it out.

My dad taught me how to build, repair, look closely at details, and trust my hands. My maternal grandmother taught me how to bake with intention, crochet with patience, and live with humour and kindness. Their teachings are woven into everything I make and everything I share.

Balancing a full-time career, raising kids, and running this part-time creative business means I’ve learned the importance of scheduling, boundaries, and taking care of myself. Creativity is my passion, but so is rest — getting enough sleep, protecting my energy, and making sure I can show up fully for myself, my family, and my clients.

Donnafied may be a part-time venture, but it carries my full dedication. My culture, my family, and my community inspire me to create work that feels welcoming and honest. Whether I’m hosting a paint night, designing a custom piece, or helping someone bring their idea to life, I want people to feel supported, understood, and connected through the process.
